::aphotic atrocity::
Well,dear viewer, I've got to be honest with you here, I really struggled with this one, and it's hard to explain why. One of the Scarybird contributors, Julio was writing the story of his own character creation, none other than the Aphotic Atrocity himself. As I write this, the story is as yet unfinished and I think that really things would have been better for me to have begun illustrating it when it was completed. So I started too soon, ok?
My next problem was that after the initial concept artwork (that I actually do like a lot and wish I'd have just stuck with that) I began trying to cut corners to make the job go quicker. The biggest corner-cutting mistake was using a 3D model reference for his un holiness because I think it makes an image look a bit lifeless or soulless, which, if you do get to read the story, is probably quite accurate for the character.
And if you was wondering what "Aphotic" means? (I know I had to look it up) Well it means: 'Without Light'.
Ooh, creepy.
